About Us

The family and staff of Locanda Rudalza in front of the restaurant

A family inn on the Gulf of Cugnana, where Sardinian and Gallurese cooking is served the way it always has been.

The story begins with tradition, but it doesn't end there. Born from a love of the Gallura land and the flavours that raised us, Locanda Rudalza is a place where every dish carries a memory, an ingredient chosen with care, a gesture passed down from generation to generation.

What began around a table has grown into something larger. Not a formal ritual, but a place people come back to — for the atmosphere as much as the food. Seasonal ingredients, classic foundations, and that familiar feeling of long tables, shared plates and unhurried conversation.

Our approach

Our philosophy

We cook with what the Sardinian land gives us — meats, cheeses, aromatic herbs and vegetables from small producers across Gallura and the whole island. Nothing superfluous, nothing artificial: just honest ingredients treated with respect and given the time they deserve. Gallurese cooking has never been about showy abundance, but about precise, deep flavours. That's what we bring to the table every day.

Our symbol

The Logo

Our logo depicts a woman in traditional Sardinian dress riding free. An image that speaks of movement, independence and self-determination. In Sardinian tradition, women have always been a pillar and keeper of deep values: not only quiet strength, but leadership, stewardship and vision. It is the power that comes from responsibility and love, not from imposition. It is a symbol of identity, of belonging to the Gallura land, and of a cuisine carried on in the same spirit: free, rooted, authentic.

Our place

The Venue

Locanda Rudalza sits in the heart of the Gulf of Cugnana, a few steps from the Villaggio Artistico Varalto, the artistic production centre founded by Salvatore Varrucciu — an Olbia sculptor who left a deep mark on this corner of Gallura. A place where art, nature and tradition have always intertwined. It is in this setting that the Locanda was born and lives on: generous spaces made for big gatherings and celebrations, set in the Mediterranean scrub, with that Sardinian light that changes the taste of everything.
